Flaaaat bread

It's fun to have new experiences with our children. Trips to new places, visits with people near and far, dinners out of the norm. Seeing how they react to these little people curve balls are part of the fun.

Last night we bravely took all four kids to a surprise birthday dinner for a friend at a rather nice restaurant on the water. It was a school night but we figured it was fine for a one time thing. The girls got as fancy as they could muster, we piled in the mold wagon (different story for a different day) and made out way to the water side restaurant.

The girls love this stuff- yelling surprise, being "in on" something, the ice water in glass goblets, view of the yachts and oversized houses. It was a fun time. But places like this don't cater to kids (even if they do have a kids menu) so I was rather impressed that we all held it together when the food took forever and the adults "had fun" while they were "dying of boredom".

On the ride home Brynn made sure we knew that her pizza smelled like feet. Madison corrected her and said "well, it was flatbread "(as if this justifies the feet smell) and not in fact pizza. Brynn didn't miss a beat and said "yay, and it was really flaaaat bread". Kids- just stick to mac and cheese, chicken fingers and some regular puffy pizza.

New experiences are fun mostly because kids are such funny creatures of habit.
